Dani Josie
Courtenay Precinct - Allen Street
Born and raised in Wellington, 19-year-old Dani Josie burst onto the music scene in 2024 with her debut single ‘Go Go Go’. After acquiring the attention of producer Devin Abrams, the two worked together to capture Josie's authentic and real stories.
From a young age, Dani has had an incredible ability to write relevant and relatable songs with unique melodies and uplifting styles. Dani's lyrics and energy enable her to connect with a crowd beyond the music.
Dani Josie’s musical talents blossomed as she grew alongside high school bandmates of ‘The Lighthouse Project’. These connections stay with her today as the bandmates continue to support her during numerous live performances with the likes of Wet Denim, Spencer Coyle and REID.
Inspired by artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan, who are known for their strong and vulnerable songwriting, Dani Josie writes from her own experiences. This can be seen from her earlier tracks ‘When I Was Young’ and ‘Bye Bye Now’.
Dani's music has consisted of electrifying punk spirit, authentic country storytelling and pop’s addicting energy that will keep you hooked from the first chord to the final chorus. Dani’s goal is to bring life back into live music and really focus on bringing people together, away from online and being their true authentic self.
“My goal is to be as real as possible and remind my listeners we’re all human, because ‘if you don’t win, you learn’,” says Dani.
