Introducing Pōneke’s very own trailblazing Kiki HOUSE OF MARAMA. Founded and led by Mother KARAMERA and Mother ROMÉ, the HOUSE OF MARAMA are known to deliver high-energy vogue and fashion performances that are sure to leave you GAGGED and wanting more. With over 50 Grand Prizes won competitively across Oceania, the HOUSE OF MARAMA holds a strong presence within the local and international Ballroom community.
Ballroom is a queer subculture founded in the late 60’s and is pioneered by the Black and Latinx Trans Women of Harlem (NYC). Today, Ballroom has expanded internationally, becoming a pop-culture phenomenon that artists such as Madonna, Megan Thee Stallion, and Beyoncé have since embraced.
